Globetrotting IT Manager to put Euramax Solutions on the map

Delivering great products and great customer service relies on strong infrastructure behind the scenes, which is why leading uPVC window and door manufacturer Euramax Solutions has invested in a new IT Manager.  

 John Calderon joined the Barnsley-based company in May with over 30 years of experience behind him, and has already set his sights high for the business.  

 Originally from Colombia, John started his career aged 16 as an IT apprentice, and soon joined the Royal Academy of Music as an IT Systems Administrator.  

 He then joined leading crop protection solution developer NuFarm, and spent the next 20 years travelling across Holland, Spain, France, Germany, South America, the USA and Australia, supporting technical projects as well as several major IT business projects, including a £27 million project for cloud-based software application programme Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning.  

 “Working with some great leaders at NuFarm who spent thousands of pounds on my personal development over a 20-year period will allow me to add value to all areas of Euramax Solutions,” John said. 

 Since joining Euramax Solutions, John has been working in the implementation of business intelligence software Qliksense, which essentially ensures the company can make quick and informed decisions based on reliable information.  

 “Covering all aspects of the business, including purchasing, sales, finance and operations, Qliksense is a tool that gathers data from different sources in order to provide a consolidated report that all levels of the company can use as part of an overall growth strategy,” John explains.  

 “This will allow all Euramax Solutions staff to leave behind time-consuming static reports and instead benefit from consolidated reports that can be filtered by year, month, week, product type, and so much more.  

 “The customer services team will be able to see at a glance how many orders have been processed within a certain period of time, and from a purchasing point of view, staff will be able to view how many orders are open, closed, and still outstanding.  

 “With the same tool, we’re also going to provide executive reporting and daily operations, meaning managers can view reports on all levels, while also being able to control and filter out the information they need or don’t need at any given time.  

 “It’s taken a lot of effort and many late nights, but I believe that implementing Qliksense will really put Euramax Solutions on the map, and I look forward to seeing it develop in the coming months. ”
